WEEK 17 - PLAYING FOOTSIES

Here's a real good look at my profile. As you can see at just over 4 months old I've already grown a lot since I first started blogging at 5 weeks, and yet I still have a lot of growing to do. My paws are still too big for my body, which not only makes me trip and stumble a lot, but is a pretty good indication of how much bigger I'm going to get. My human, Kevin, takes me out a lot to meet other dogs and humans, especially children...something he calls "socializing" me, whatever that means.

If you look closely at this picture you can see the tiny feet of my playmate, Ceecee, under the door. Ceecee is my grandma's Chihuahua and even though I'm already a giant compared to her we like to play a lot. I know she's smaller than me so I'm careful not to be too rough with her. Here she is locked in the guest room because she was barking at people, so I'm visiting her in the hoosegow. My big ol' clods won't fit under the door, so she teases me by sticking her little feet out, them pulling them back at the last minute.

WEEK 15 - CHASING SOMEONE ELSE'S TAIL

Well, almost 4 months old now, mid September 2009 and the weather is cooling off. I find I can play longer and harder in the cooler weather. In this video I'm not really trying all that hard to catch Casidy, my Auntie Sue's companion, I'm just happy to bound along behind her making her feel as if she's being chased. She's chubier than I am and needs the exercise a lot more than I do.

Another thing I've been compelled to do lately, for some reason, is to drag twigs or sometimes entire tree branches covered in dead or dying leaves into the house. My human, Kevin, thinks it's funny, even though he has to carry them back outside again. He keeps talking to me about something called snow, promising me I'm going to love it. Whatever it is, I can't wait!
